Happy birthday...

TO ME!!!!!

The driving fairy just stopped by and dropped off a magical box of driving talent, and then my insurance company called to let me know my rate went down...sorta. Hooray for surviving a quarter of a century.

So what did you all get me?

Re: Happy birthday...

I got you something, but then i realized you hadn't gotten me anything for my birthday, so we can just call it even.

I envy your lower rate...

Looks like a Colt .22 Tactical. I want a Remington R-25.

Nope, not Colt. Anvil Arms lower (one of the last for a while), RRA upper, some Magpul bits. Got some more on the way, and I may be coming into possession of a 6.5 Grendel upper here.

Sarcasm rarely translates well via forum.

I was gonna do CMMG for the upper, but the only thing it has over this upper is a 1/7 twist rate and M4 feed ramps. I'm not shooting at long enough ranges to need 1/7 twist with the 77gr ammo, and M4 feed ramps can be done by a good gunsmith. But I do like CMMG, and I send a good number of people to them.

My next rifle is going to be Spike's Tactical, Noveske, and Magpul all the way through. Unless, of course, I can convince the BATFE to grant me the magical responsibility of owning an SBR, then I'm gonna get a 10.5in ACR...Om nom nom nom.

Re: Happy birthday...

It's just some paperwork and 200$ fee, might as well copy the paperwork and get the silencer while you are at it... Bwwahahahahaha...

And what ever happened to not posting pics of rifles? i seem to remember a rumor of a g3 clone?

Changed my mind. Basically, I came to the realization that it didn't matter if I posted the pics or not. In the end, if by some strange conspiracy or whack job set up anyone wants to get me or make me take a fall or whatever, they are gonna do more than just grab pictures off my AR off a car forum. *Shrug*

This is my only pea shooter at the moment, after month 3 with out a job I had to sell off most of my collection to pay off a ton of bills. I had about $4500 all in all invested into the collection, sold it all for $3500. I could have gotten another $250-$500 if I held out on the sales, but I needed the money. The G3 clone went for $800, my shoty for $450 (which actually was a profit...) and my pistols covered the rest. I continue to hold that if you want to have safe investments, put your money into guns.

I know all the FFL stuff...but its just a hassle. The local office tends to be a bit dick on anything other than cans for .22s. Its sad, really. I've been in contact with the local office of the BATFE and the main office, and I'm still having issues getting my FFL. The days of the coffee table FFL and in home dealers are waaaaay gone. To many first hand stories of the BATFE showing up at three in the morning wanting to take a look at inventory and records. Clinton really did a number on the 2A, and G Dub was pro gun, just not pro gun enough to over throw everything Clinton did (yeah, he let the Appearance Ban sunset, but he really needed to replace, well, everyone in the BATFE). Obama is most definitely not our friend with this at all.

Ah well, one can hope.
