Will Ralf be replaced by Marc Gene?

Just read this on F1.com

First there was the letter from Williams to Ralf to get his act together, but according to an Williams insider, it wouldn'tt be a bad idea to give Ralf a 1 month break to sort things out and let Gene drive instead. "Marc has shown he can be as quick as both Ralf and Juan Pablo in testing." According to the statement

Is Ralf in trouble or is this just another rumour...?

Is Ralf in trouble or are Williams just making him their scapegoat?

I think williams are just in a bad spot. Replacing schumi wit gene? cant just go on testing, its a different story to an actual GP.

I agree with you, he went from 18th on the grid to 4th at Sepang so it's not like he stunk it up in every race. He is definitely struggling with one lap qualifying though. If they put Marc Gene in the car and he doesn't perform in races, definitely different than testing, any better, it just makes the Williams team look worse.

Gene has driven in GPs before...I believe he drove for Minardi in '99 and '00. Even so, I think that they should, and that they probably will stick with Ralf.

Sounds unlikely. Great rumour though!

Apparently Sir Frank And Patrick Head have denied sending Ralf the "shape up" letter. In the world of F1 a denial is as good as a confirmation.

I think they should dump Montoya and Ralf and get drivers like Hans Stuck and Dieter Quester in their place!

They had more passion than Ralf and more control than Montoya.
