Random clicking behind glovebox, sounds like blinker

So my newest headache with this truck is a random clicking that it makes at random times when the blinkers are not on. I checked all the bulbs and lights, they all seem fine, can't seem to find a fault in anything, but man that noise is annoying! It seems to be coming from behind the glovebox, sounds exactly like my blinker is turning on and off at random times and durations. Oh and it also ceases if I press the brake pedal. 98 Blazer LT with 113,000 miles. I tried searching through old posts but couldn't find much info on this. Any help?

I had this. It was the blinker. Could be a broken hazard switch . I replaced the whole multifunction turn signal switch. No more problems.

I f i remember right its the white wire from the flasher module that the multifunction switch is grounding. It should not provide a path to ground until the switch is in a left, right, or four way signal mode. Sometimes you can wiggle the wheel or lever and get it to stop which helps confirm the switch is at fault.

Relays (3) are behind the glove box. Relays click. If it was a relay, something must be working intermitantly while the noise happens.

There's an access panel in the back of the glove box. take it off and see if the clicking gets louder.

Thanks for the help guys! Do you know if this is a condition that can get worse? I won't get a chance to fix it until after the weekend.

Yep. I would wiggle the hazard switch and it would stop.
