Re: Serpentine belt

Goodyear belts are good. That is what I have on my GP also and have had no problems. GM is also good, but you have to go to the stealership to get one.

What length do I need with a 3.8, and what's the cost about?

Re: Serpentine belt

Dayco arent bad either.

There are 2 different lenghts for 97, your probably best if you bring the original in with you when you pick one up.

Re: Serpentine belt

BNaylor suggested that I use the Goodyear belt on my 98GP and it works great plus it was much cheaper (over 50%) than the dealer brand.

Re: Serpentine belt

Goodyear Gatorbacks are good belts. They run 35-40.00 each.

Re: Serpentine belt

On belt size either 93" or 93.5". I recall it had something to do with the alternator pulley size back then and the reason for two possible sizes. Either 3.0" or 3.5".

I would remove the old serpentine drive belt, cut it and then measure to be sure.

Re: Serpentine belt

When I replaced the belt on the gp the place I went to did not know which belt is was, so I bought both and returned the one I did not use. I can't remember which belt it was.
