14r

So what's the deal with this car then?

Was it repaired, was it written off, etc?

Also just so I'm not going crazy, weren't there recent pictures of a LARK car with #61 on it's side on a poster or something, or did I just imagine it?

Would these possibly give a clue as to it's current status?

Couldn't help but ask as I've noticed the current for sale status of 13R is spreading across the internet. Would be wonderful to get both together but I know that's just pie-in-the-sky thinking.

Re: 14r

Any mystery or debate surrounding 14R's survival and current whereabouts sort of settled itself when the book "McLaren: The Cars" was released in 2008. That's when those new studio shots surfaced of it and I believe there was even a caption in the book (as if anyone still had doubts) that it was indeed #14R.

[After looking again, I don't see the chassis number in the book, but the car in the pictures, besides having all the correct markings, is referred to as the car of Brabham and Neilsen which would have to be #14R.]

It is believed that McLaren have kept this car in storage somewhere all these years. I'd agree that it would be pretty cool to reunite the LARK pair for some photos before somebody runs off and does something silly like painting #13R a more saleable color.

Re: 14r

#13R was with Mclaren in Woking around the time '#14R' was photographed for that book. Perhaps they swapped the racing numbers and drivers names to make #13R to look like #14R

BTW getting the 2 LARK cars together will do no good to my heart

Re: 14r

Funny, just couple of days ago I wondered this #14R case again. The Location of GTR topic has some kind of detail of this if I remember right. Mystery thing really. SOme stories if I'm right now were that they would rebuilt that, but was there other one GTR also, what is totally destroyed? Was it 04R, which I have just couple of shots...?
