'67 Dodge Charger
For a Dutch groupbuild I'm building this 1967 Dodge Charger. The theme is muscle car, but I make a pro touring style.
![]() ![]() The orginal wheels looks cool, but I'll use some Pegasus Hella's for this car. ![]() ![]() ![]() The paint will be black. I don't know if I keep the big chrome trim that is on the body. I use this real charger as my reference as far as possible. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kris.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
Looks like a good project, the real one looks superb. Personally I would omit the chrome along the wing tops. the Revell kit looks lots better than the amt version I'm doing (still not done any more yet!). I look forward to seeing more progress (you'lll probably finish yours before mine).

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
First update is a fact!
First I rescribed the panellines. After that I primered the body with Tamiya Grey Primer. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also decided to use other wheels. These look more custom but still fit a muscle car. The rear tires are fat enough for this car . The wheels are from a Tamiya Ferrari Mythos.![]() ![]() ![]() I also finished the nice Hemi 426 engine. I used a Detail Master wired distributor and I really love that part. It's from turned aluminium and there is also a PE set with cable holders etc. The valve covers are painted with Scale Fabric paint. So now they have a rough surface. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope to paint the body tomorrow. Kris.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
Engine looks great. I like the wheels. Wide wheels especially at the rear are possible & look cool as the 1:1 stock cars wheels are well inside the arches. You may have to do some suspension surgery though. On my AMT version I have put wide wheels especially at the rear and I even had to mod the basic AMT chassis. Good luck. Looking forward to more.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
Today I painted the body with TS-Black.
![]() ![]() ![]() The wheels suit this color very good ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope to add the bmf next week and than I can clearcoat the body. Kris.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
Paint job looks nice & smooth. Wheels do look well suited but it looks like you need to mod the chassis at the rear to get them to sit nicely under the arches.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
How have I missed this? It looks mean with the black paint and rake.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
These wheels look better. The straight lines go with the car better. The most recent set kind of clash with the car. Just my opinion.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
Today I did the BMF chrome work. It was a pain in the *ss, cause some trims are very thin, so a mistake is made quickly.
After all I clearcoated the body one time, and added the few decals on the body. Tomorrow I'll clearcoat it another 3 or 4 times. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The interior is also painted already. I painted it Interior Red from Vallejo, but it is more like rust/brown. At least it suits the black paint very well ![]() Kris.

Yesterday I added 3 layers Clear on the body.
Now it can harden for a week, and than it will be polished ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This week I'm going further with the interior. Kris.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
I'm not a huge fan of those wheels, but they don't look horrible. I would probably have gone with some kind of open "mesh" style like a Volk VS-XX or BBS LM. Or for a more american feel, the use of torque thrusts/torque thrust II or those Halibrands you had originally posted.
Your model, and it looks great, so I say keep up the good work.

Re: '67 Dodge Charger
Finished the interior today
![]() First I painted all parts with Vallejo interior red. It is more brown than red, but I still liked it anyway. The seats and doorpanels needed a chrome trim, but with BMF it was very difficult, so I decided to use some chrome paint instead. I also drybrushed the charger logo on the doorpanels ![]() ![]() The carpet is Light Buff from Hiroboy, and the back is flocked with Black also from Hiroboy. ![]() The mid console was painted black and also painted the chrome trim. There were also some areas which needed some Light Buff flocking. ![]() I painted the dashboard in black, and painted the chrome details. I also drybrushed some parts. A real Muscle car needs a nice Pro Comp rpm tacho, so I used one from Mr. Model. It's a really nice part made from aluminium. ![]() ![]() Now it was time to put it all together and add some more interiordetails like a donut box, modelkit and a magazine. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The chassis is also almost done, but you'll see it next time. Kris.
