Anyone race motorcycles?

No, I'm not someone who just saw BikerBoyz, I'm just wondering, because I think that motorcycles deserve a lot of respect, too. So, anyone race? I don't, well, not yet. Gotta get a bike first. Share some info if you do though (Bike you own, ect.)

I raced two in STL last summer, and dropped 5th gear in my tranny (I bent my fifth gear shift fork). Maybe I was racing him too hard, :hehehe:. Sure wouldn't mind having one though

Well, they instigated it. They were in front of me at a stoplight. I don't know how they knew that I was back there, but one of the bikers glanced back, got his buddies attention, and pointed back to me. They both started revving. I was confused, but kinda wanted to see them take off like bats out of hell, so I threw a rev back. When the light turned green, the one on the left flat out was gone. The rider on the right sped up, and got in the right lane, and waited for me to pull up on him. By this time I was in third gear, so when I caught up to him, I dropped back to second and took off. He got on it as well. When I went to shift to 3rd, that's when I had my problem with the transmission, and his rear was at my nose, so he was pulling on and away from me. By this time, I was trying to figure out what the hell happened to my car, and he went up and met his buddy on down the road. I guess you could say that that's what I get for racing a bike with my SS :hehehe:

i'm not too sure about bikes deserving respect.

if you keep both wheels on the ground on the freeway, you'll get my respect, but i'm not a fan of "stunt riding" on the freeway.

if you do it on a deserted industrial parkway, or in a parking lot or something, that's cool, but i hate seeing a headlight pointed up in the air coming at me, b/c if he wipes out, i've got to clean pieces of biker out of my grille...

and that's messy.

and i'm serious...

i love bikes, want a triumph speed triple, or something built by jesse james and west coast choppers...

but i don't want to be tied to that stigma that the wild bikers like the starboyz have...

I used to race about three years ago. Sold my last bike though last Summer. I had two '98 GSX-R's that were my prepped race bikes and one 2001 GSX-R that was my street bike. One of the race bikes was in nice condition when I sold it but the other got parted out because I had a really bad low side while at a race(broke 2 ribs and a wrist). The rest of it got scrapped. It was a lot of fun but now I do the car thing.
I have raced 3 bikes in the Supra. A Honda 600 F4 one day. And a GSX-R 750 and Kawa 750RR. Ripped apart the F4 but the fool couldn't ride. He tried to pull on me in his top gear(Not sure if they are 5 or 6's). I was in 4th and ran it up through 5th and into 6th. I pulled really hard on him and he kinda rode by looking surprised. The two 750's I raced at one time. We all three got on the highway behind my gf and her Eclipse GS-T. I didn't want to get her invloved in the race so I passed her on the entrance ramp to make room for them to pass once we all got on the highway. As soon as they got around her I took off from 4th gear. The Suz. caught up to me and sat at my door for a while then I slowly started pulling away at about 160-165. I ran until he was a little bit off my rear bumper roughly 175. All three of us shut 'em down and we all exited off the highway. They came up next to me and the guy on the Suz lifted his visor and said,"That thing is pretty wicked man." I said thanks and told him I'd rather be riding though.

drag racing bikes is kind of silly. Bikes of the same class have nearly the same performance anyway. It's twisty raods and stuff that's cool. But the whole premise of biker boys was a fuckin joke.

Thumbs up

Great stories, guys! And though I initially meant bikes vs. bikes, cars vs. bikes seems to be even more interesting. Keep em' coming!

well bikes will pretty much always kick a car's ass from a stop.
but from a highway roll, a powerfull enough can beat a bike becasue of aerodynamic advantages.
