heat air flow,2000 regal

When I flip the temp control to heat, the blower still blows out the dash vents, not the under dash vents. It seems like the air is blocked or something isn't switching. Any ideas?

Do you have the controls set for floor? You may have to check the directional doors.

I took the consul off trying to reach the vents. The older cars had a flap in them that stuck. I couldn't get in far enough to find any vent control. I was wondering if these newer models are electrical?

The HVAC system uses a combination of vacuum operated and electrical actuators for airflow. Check the vacuum line from the upper intake manifold to the HVAC system. Along the firewall and it snakes over to the area of the battery. Without proper vacuum the vents and airflow direction will not work right
