Remember those gay neon comercials?
Remember those gay neon comercials? The neon was driving along a field full of daysies and it had a big Hi on top of it. Now they come up with this new turbo Neon SR/T? I think the Neon has come a long way, don't you? When ever I see one coming towards me I think its a Porsche GT3!

Yeah those commercials were pretty bad, and I think they really created a bad name for the neon. I own a first generation neon, and its a fun car...the engines are damn near bulletproof, mine survived 9700RPM stock. Neons are great cars...mechanically, but honestly (I am the first to admit it) The front end is HIDEOUS. The SRT-4's are pretty nice looking, and on the 1/4 they run close to corvette speeds for econobox prices.

Its incredibble to see how it went from economy car to compact muscle car. I would have neverthough it.
I wonder if the Focus will respond to it?

The Focus DID respond, The SVT Focus, is Fords answer to the Neon.
Not a very good answer tho if you ask me, the SVT is essentially a regular focus, with a tuned suspension and a slightly tuned engine. Not an answer to the SRT-4...maybe a neon R/T, or ACR but not equivalent to a SRT-4. But the SRT-4 is also limited production...that makes me sad.

I don't see the SVT Focus as an answer to the SRT-4, especially considering the SVT's were out before the SRT's...right? But I think they do beat R/T's, just not by a lot. I like them though, not bad.

How reliable is the Neon over the Focus, because I know the focus just seems to disintegrate, there's cases of wheel & hub assemblies coming off while on the highway!

my cousin works in service @ a ford dealership here on long island, and he is still amazed @ the number of focus's that come in for warranty repairs and whatnot since the car debuted.

Didn't MotorTrend just name the Focus the most reliable compact car? I could swear I heard that or maybe seen it on TV. Anyways, the Focus SVT is an excellent answer to the SRT-4, if it has had a Jackson Racing Supercharger added...LOL

the SVT focus is more for people that care about drivability. SRT-4 is for people that want raw performance. The two dont even compare performance wise the focus does like a 7.4 to 60 where as the SRT does a 5.5. The focus is a good handling car, then again so is the SRT-4
