Tamiya Supra Project (PICS)

primered with Testors Grey Primer and painted with Plasti-Kote Super Red II, next step will be to build the rest of the kit and wait to cut back and polish

whao, that color looks great, it'll look even better after it's polished. good luck with the rest, and tell us how the paint hold up to the polish, wether or not it comes off easily...

Primer

Looks nice but I think the laquer over the Testors primer did not mix since the plastic looks crazed. You might run into trouble if the plastic did craze and lift when you go to cut the paint.

When crazing, the plastic lifts and creates minute high spots which when sanding will cut off the paint and leave bare plastic.

Maybe this visualization is easier

origninal plastic surface should be like this __________

when crazed the surface looks like this /\/\/\/\/\/\

when sanding the tips of the surface will be cut off and expose the plastic

The only way I can see a fix is to let the paint cure lightly build up more coats of paint so you fill the low spots the sand the paint.

Hopefully you can fix this.

I agree, looks great but in the last pic it really looks like the hood has heavy orange peel.

You know what to do. Of course it is fixable.
