cavalier flooding

My daughters 1997 Cavalier got partially flooded last week and the floor is still wet. Now all of the dash lights are on. It starts and runs fine. Could the on board computer be wet. I'm not sure where it's located.

Re: cavalier flooding

Yes, the PCM could have been immersed. On your '97, it should be located at the right front fender, just ahead of the wheel opening.

The electrical connectors are onn the lower edge of the PCM, and are susceptible to problems if the car is in more than a foot of water.

Re: cavalier flooding

That's really uncalled for. Obvioulsy it got wet, it appears he was asking the elevation of the PCM, since it was partially flooded.

Re: cavalier flooding

Thanks for the replies. On the pcm since the engine runs but the dash lights are lit up is it possible the problem is in the connections or can part of the pcm fail but still allow the car to run.
