Need your opinion on struts and springs

I have a 97 GTP 160K miles, and I wanted to lower it. I am definitely going with B+G lowering springs, but I wanted to know if the Monroe Reflex (fronts) and Monroe Sensatrak (rear) struts that I currentyl have on my car will be ok. There is maybe 10k miles on the fronts and 5k on the rears. I got them on sale during Black friday sales to save money. I really don't want to replace the struts unless there is no other way. I was wondering what your guy's experiences are with lower cars and things I need to consider.

Re: Need your opinion on struts and springs

I would think twice about lowering it if I were you. Lowering it usually causes all sorts of issues up to and including extra stress on your lower controll arms and bushings, more stress on your motor mounts due to the different angle your motor sits at, and I think you may even need to get shorter dog bones.

Not to mention no shop will even touch it if you bring it in for an alignment with lower springs on it.

IMO, not worth the money do drop 2 inches curb height. A friend of mine from work had some lower springs in his GTP. When we parked side by side, you could barely notice any difference in heights.

He said that he was suprized how nice his car handled and all the suspension issues cleared up after he switched from the lower springs to the stock height.

But to answer your question, the struts you have should work just fine.
