auto-dim rear view mirror

hello everyone...quick question. got in my GT yesterday to drive to work...and noticed that there is a line right through the center of my rear view mirror...looks like it is shot. top part doesnt dim anymore...however the bottom does. happened out of nowhere, but whatever.

question is...i know someone that is parting out a 2002 GTP that has on star and auto-dim. will this one work in my 98? i know that the on star wouldnt work obviously...but would the mirror/auto dim still work?

thanks in advance.

Re: auto-dim rear view mirror

I think in 2001+ they changed the wiring on the auto dim mirror. I'm sure you could make it work, just ask him for the harness with about a foot of wire on it.

BTW, onstar wouldn't work anyways because of the digital switchover.
