How much of a crash is actually absorbed by the fenders?
Reason I ask, just in case anyone her happens to know, is that i'm thinking of "creative" ways to reduce weight. If some body panels and the hood were made of fiberglass (like cameros and corvettes), well...that would be cool. Also thinking of making a mold for the trunk and front and rear bumpers.

Actually, very little of the impact of a crash is absorbed by the body panels them selves. Almost all of the force of a crash is absorbed by the structure supporting the body panel.
