Wink Engine Swap Ideas.

I found these engine bay photos some place, and loved them. I thought mabe some of you may get some ideas as I have from these Super Engine swaps. These engine swaps can be used in your 1/24 Aoshima, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Heller, Revell and Tamiya kits.

1. Nissan VQ35DE in Mazda FD3S(RX7)

2. Nissan SR20DET in Toyota AE86 (Levin/T) this will work in the AE85 also.

3. Nissan RB26DETT in Toyota AE86 (Levin/T) this will work in the AE85 also.

4. Nissan RB26DETT in Toyota Altezza SXE10

5. Toyota 2JZ-GTE in 1960-70 Toyota 2000GT

As I have bean working on my AE86 Levin I started on it's engine bay, and I wanted more (In the power section) so I started looking up info on the levin and found those photos. If any of you have tryed these please talk about what you came up with and how your engine ideas fit.

Re: Engine Swap Ideas.

One thing I was looking at the other day is the VQ40DE out of a '06 Pathfinder (Terrano) into a 240SX 'Vert (Silvia convertible for those not in the know). I believe this could be done with a re-badged VQ35DE from the AMT 350Z with some effort.

I'm working on a SR20DET (that I am building from scratch) to put into...well anything, but an F31 Leopard had crossed my mind as one of the possible new homes for this.

How about a VG30DETT into a Y32 Leopard JFerrie (Infiniti J30)? Build a unique drift car out of it with gutted/caged interior, all the drift parts like rear line lock set up on a drift style pull handle.

Any small turbo motor into a 28-31 model "T"

One thing you must always remember though, anything can be a direct "bolt in" affair with enough modification! lol

Re: Engine Swap Ideas.

To be on japan stuff just with a feet (and the other obviously would be an italian feet ) I see several Ferrarir running in the SuperGT champ without.....italian heart!!!!
Yes: I'm not sure 100% but over 2005 has run a 360 with a Mugen powerplant.... and it looks not an ita V8.....
Ok just to report a "different" engine swap

Well another "swap" I'll report (if it would called swap) is on the racing R35 GTR: insthead the stock twin turbo V6 they mounted an atmospheric Infini V8 (XX45what?) I don't remember the exact engine names but I'll check.

The Ferrari/Mugen swap is explained in here:
http://www.dome.co.jp/news/racerepor...50_05_sgt.html

Basically, the F430 engine swap didn't work out because the 430 itself wasn't certified back then. Instead of spending tons of money to develop and certify a racing F430 engine (for the 360 chassis) for special approval, the team chose the cheaper solution of using a modified Mugen MF408S from the Dome S101.

The 5.6 V8 in the GT-R GT1 is code-named VK56DE.
