Could the warping be due to how the kit was stored? (I.e. stored in direct sunlight)

Man that sucks, I was considering buying a few of this kit, My Dads a big Triumph fan & I wanted to build about 3 different versions of this kit, good to see a 1/25 plastic model of the GT6..
Cant get over how the rear 3 quarters & roof are seperate pieces, look at how fat the A, B & C pillars are..... terrible, just simply terrible

all weathered up, i was told it was a 40+ year old kit from a company with a reputation as bad as Palmer. it was declared defective by by the producer, apparently mine was the lemon of the bunch. all done with chalk pastels the color is british racing green metallic.
