exhaust

how much do u think a exhaust cost? By the way, i have seen alot of sellers on eBay tellinig us that it has a 5 hp gain ( no exhaust, you just put a hugh muffeler) many other people also tell me this as well....if u put exhaust it's 10-15 hp...muffler=5 hp and that adding muffler is not going to be bad for engine or the car itself...it is better if you just put a exhuast???And what kind of exhaust would do good for good price and good sound...dont really care about hp gain...

Honestly it all depends on what you asking for? I got a RSX Type-S and I have a Greddy Evo full Cat-Back. The thing is that its not loud and its not one of those high pitch exhuast, because I hate those kind of exhaust. But if you want something loud with HP get Blitz or HKS, but recommend you to get Greddy.

Ok bro I'm sorry to inform you but you will not gain 10-15 hp from just an exhaust no mater who makes the exhaust. And as for the comment on how you can get 5hp from just the muffler is BS as well bro.

You are looking at gaining around 3-7 hp depending on the exhaust you go with at most for a complete cat back exhaust( B-pipe and muffler).

As for the exhaust being bad for the engine this is BS as well bro. I suggest you ignore the "people" who are telling you all this false information and look into it yourself bro.

An exhaust will not harm the engine in any way, unless you are running a test pipt which takes the place of the catalic convertor but I will explain this to you in a bit. When you get an aftermarket exhaust you are replacing your factory b-pipe and muffler which are usually very restrictive with a more free flowing b-pipe and exhaust which lets the engine breath better and this is how you gain a few more hp. You are helping the engine not work as hard as it was before. By adding a aftermarket exhaust you are helping the engine by letting it have wider piping to let out excess gas which is usually restricted by the small piping.

Now the point is to help the engine breath better so it does not have to work as hard to try and let the gas exit easier.

Now as I mentioned earlier about a test pipe I will now explain what I meant. The catalic converter is an item in which the government made all car producers put on as to try and keep emissions low. The cat is very restrictive and makes the car not perform to its full potential. Now by replacing the Cat with a test pipe which is just and empty pipe that connect the header to the b-pipe eliminates the cat and lets the car breath even better. So the engine can now dispose of the gas as fast as it wants to without any restrictions. Now comes the bad part.

By running a test pipe you will make the Check engine light come on due to the computer reading to much air come out. So after 4 cycles the engine will think it is running to lean and make the car run more richer which in turn will make the car run like shit. Plus it is illegal to remove you cat and this carries a huge fine so I recommend you stay away from this item unless you are planning a auto X or 1/4 mile track race only.

As for exhaust available there are many that you can choose from, here are a few:

Apex N1
Hayame
Spoon Sport exhaust
Spoon Race exhaust
Mugen
Comptech
Greddy
Tanabe
Buddy club
Futijusbo
Magna Flow
DC exhaust.
And there are a few more to choose from but those are the ones that I know of.

Well I hope this information helped you. Good luck bro.
