exhaust exhaust exhaust
I am ready to get an exhaust for my 94 civic Si. I have been looking and looking an looking and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions. Right now the one that is at the top of my list is the Apex N1 cat back system. Everywere I look it gets good reviews. I know the WS is cheaper but i have heard that is sounds good and that it sounds bad. GReddy seems to be a bad choice because they seem to rust out in a year. Obviously cheaper is better but i am not willing to sacrifice quality for it. Any suggestions would be helpful.

take a look at tanabe. i have one on my car and it sounds great. plus it is built very well. i used to have the hks exhaust but it was too loud for street use. it flowed better but it was way too loud. so yah tanabe is a very good option for you. i hear thermal is good too but i dont know anyone who has one so cant vouche for them.

I have a Tanabe and love it. People say N1 is way loud but they do make a silencer for em. I recommend either of the two. Nothing else.

cheapest option is custom exhaust system... i got 2 1/4 piping put in n a racing muffler for $240... u can get mufflers from ebay cheap... most of them come with a silencer... and theres ones that u can "tune" to get the right sound... if u do go this method... have a resonator put in... i dont have one n its a lil loud in the cabin...

I just found that Megan exhaust and it's a knock off. If you wan't a generic exhaust go for it. If you don't wan't to spend a lot of cash just get a knock off and custom pipe that shit. IMO you get what you pay for and those knock off look cheesy as hell. When I'm on the road I kind of guage a car by the exhaust. It's the only thing that says performance at a glance. If I see an N1, Racing Medallion, Fireball, or Evo I find it safe assume that that person is more about perfomance and quality than another guy with an OBX.

Mugen one is too expensive
Tanabe isn't that good as well Apexi N1 is the best (I think) |

look it up...seems every week there is a "what exhaust is rite for my car" type of thread. simply go out an look at wut we've all said already about 5 times. then...if any of ur friens have exhaust's that u like...consider that, its all about personal preference. (ie, bunch of ppl like the greddy' evo, but i personally think it sounds like the biggest piece of poop ever...)

Well right now i need an exhaust but I feel if I get a really good one, by the time i get the body done it will rust out and i will have to replace it anyways. So I was thinking of getting the generic one then when the body is done next summer i will get a good one. Decisions descisions.

They're made of stainless steel. I've had mine for three years and the shit looks damn good. You get what you pay for. I doubt I'll ever have to buy another exhaust for the life of my car.

he's right....you get what you pay for...
if you go all out with a good quality one (stainless steel) you won't have to worry about rust... |
