Tamiya Supra JZA80
Just finished this. Mostly OOB, but had fun with it. The stock wheels were too small so I opted for some Blitz rims. Smoked the windows, headlights, and taillights. Nothing much. Basically, I built it the way I would mod an actual Supra.

Re: Tamiya Supra JZA80
Nice detail work, but what happened to the paint? Is it semi gloss black or is it just the camera?

Re: Tamiya Supra JZA80
It's the camera under bad lighting. The paint is Tamiya TS-40 (Metallic Black) and two coats of TS13 clear.
Here are some outside shots. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Tamiya Supra JZA80
Looks pretty good. Fitment is right on.
Down at the body shop, we call pearl or metallic black "Dirty Black" because no matter how you look at it, it looks dirty.

Re: Tamiya Supra JZA80
Nice work. I prefer it with the stock wing as it flows much better with the bodylines. What type of smoke did you use and how did you apply it? You seem to have laid down a nice, uniform coating and from my experience of clear shades, that's quite tricky to do.

Re: Tamiya Supra JZA80
I used Tamiya TS71 smoke spray can.
I know what you mean, I had some problems when I sprayed the TS-71 for the windows, but I found out when I press the aerosol softly, it gives off a nice small mist instead of the forced spray when pressed all the way. I sprayed it going slowly left and right for 3 seconds when I did mine.
