Question INspection Problem

OK so i went in for inspection thinking my car is perfectly fine cuz i've noticed no problems with it at all. Well all was good except for my left front ball joint. I;ve read things saying that you have to replace the whole arm and other things that say you can buy press ins and it is perfectly fine.

What can anyone tell me or does anyone know first hand about what I should do?

Oh its a 93 Vr4 by teh way sorry

Thanks

LMAO, I just went and looked and they want $150 plus shipping for two ball joints. I paid $90 shipped from a member on 3si when I got mine. His prices has since plummetted.

$66 shipped

Moog ball joint part number K9855 lists for $22 each at my local Advance Auto. So again why give 3$x $150 when you can spend $44?

They are hell on ripping people off on small things. I caught them charging $70 plus shipping on Fel Pro headbolts that Advance only charges $31 for and informed the buyer. He made a stink about it in a thread he had already started and 3sx deleted the thread because they said, he was posting misinformation. LMAO. Calling them out for their gouging is misinformation now I guess.

This isn't 3si though so this post is staying.

Don't always assume 3sx is the best. There are tons of other 3s performance sites out there that can crush 3sx on their prices.

Re: INspection Problem

PA is not really that anal. A bad ball joint IS a failable "offense". Its no different than having tires that are shot, brakes that are shot, or headlights that don't work. It is called a SAFETY inspection afterall.

A lot of times it depends on how anal the shop wants to be. Some shops are severely anal because it is THEIR ass on the line. If something on your car fails that they inspected they can be held liable if its proven they were negligent in their insepction process.

There are some shops I have went to where all they want is my registration and insurance card and they dont even look at the car though.
