Thumbs up Further Proof of the Maximas Amazing Ability

I took my Totally Stock 96 Maxima SE to Thunderhill in Willows, CA. Running 60% worn Bridgestone Potenza S-03 PP tires (225/50/15), and despite going very shallow on the brakes I was able to consistently break 2:30 laps. I wont talk the level of sheet that I can and mention some of the cars that I passed. Best lap was about 2:26.78. It sounds like im bragging but the point is this: The car even before mods is practically a magic carpet, I tell ya! Hats off to the Bridgestone folk too on the tires. Maximas got mana!

Regards

the potenza's on my car suck ass, my front tires slip sometimes at full thorottle in first gear because the tires don't have enough traction (this is defferent than torque steer, the wheels aren't being jerked, for you potential flamers)

Is that a fact! Out of curiosity, what pressure you got those pups at? And they are the s-03s? (yeah, dumb question)

Front Strut Tower Brace, eh? OK! Any suggested brand? Are they all about the same?
Im thinking of the KYB AGX struts as the other thing that might have the most bang-for-the-buck in handling. If I get crazy and (charge) a cat-back and Y-tube should I go for Stillen Y pipe/Rear exhaust at around $675 for parts, or should I go for GReddy ($500)? Anyone have suggestions? I dont want to spend unneccessarily. Thanks yall

FSTBs are all pretty much the same in function and performance, except for price.

I'll be getting my front tower brace tommorrow from an ebay auction I only paid $29 inc. s/h. on. I'll let you know the difference when I put it. It is the first performance or handling mod that I have. The last item that I ordered off ebay was my clear corners for the front paid $27.99 inc. s/h. It made a big difference in the look of the car.

Front Strut Bar improves your handling. I have a Zero1Racing FSTB, my friend bought it for me from www.speedpeople.com for my Birthday last November, for 40 bucks. Its really great. Really does improve handling on corners. Check my homepage for pics of my FSTB

I wouldn't buy anything from that place. They're abou 20 mins away from me. Their store is as big as my living room and the strictly cater to the ricer crowd. Hardly any performance mods but a ton of universal cosmetic items.

I went in there when they opened and asked them what they had for Maximas and they said, "We got these Euro tailights".

I'm not saying that the part is crap. I'm just saying that the store is crap. They do nothing but support the ricer trend. No real mods, no installs, and no technical help. Lots of neon washer lights though.

I understand that it wasn't your decision and that you don't know what the store is actually like. I'm also not saying that your strut bar is of poor quality or anything like that. (I mean, how can you f up a strut bar?) I'm just giving my $.02 on the retailer itself.
