I'm liking it... I got vtec activated at 4300. I still have a few bugs to deal with not related to the swap but so far its running like a champ

4300 is a bit low for the Y8. Take it to the track and see about changing the times up and see what it does for ya. It's best to practice and get a good repeatable time so that you can tell a difference. I think the Y8 activates VTEC at around 5500 stock. Honda does that for a reason. Granted, power isn't always their best interest. So, maybe try some higher points, maybe around 4800. Best of luck and let me know what you get because I have yet to activate my VTEC. Deuce.

4800 i believe is stock.....but you can go up to 5200. it REALLY depends on your daily driving habits.

4300 really is too low.

The z6 is aound 4800-5200, the y8 is higher than the z6, the y8 activates stock around 5500. I would at least go to 5000 for safety sake of the motor.

All my cars with adjustable cam gears I always leave the top timing belt cover off. I have never had a problem with anything getting in there or anything. I haven't even heard of anyone having a problem with not having it on.

I'm gonna try to get some track time in a few weeks. My buddy has an 89 crx w/ z6 swap and he ran a 15.6 @ 88 mph. Granted he had some crappy tires and axles that need to be replaced, I hope to beat his time. He should be a little faster now since he just converted to obd-1. I'll keep ya'll updated
