car got hit at lunch today :'(

Well it happened. I went to the Quizno's down the street from my office. As I was getting ready to pull into a parking spot some assmunch busy talking on his cell phone backed his Escalade right into my right front fender My wheel got knocked out of alignment pretty bad not to mention scratched up. I am so upset right now I've tried to keep this car nice over the years, aside from the scratches and dents its gotten...it is a 6 year old car afterall. UGH I cannot believe it. He was being a dick about it when i asked him for his insurance info. He got a nice sized dent in his bumper but not as bad as my fender did. He was about to get in and drive off, but on the bright side there are a handful of motorcycle cops that eat lunch there, and one of them saw it happen. So he came up to MAKE SURE I got the info I needed. The guy was pissed and peeled out after he left. The cop said he would be willing to be a witness when i go to report this the insurance companies. I'll post damage pics later.

<sigh>

Oh, Kat.

I'm sorry. At least you have help from the cops. I hope everything turns out for you.

That blows, hope you collect good from him though He probably couldn't even see you anyways, what with the propensity for SUV's to block the drivers view of EVERYTHING that is within 10 feet (hence the troubling reports of children getting backed over, etc.) Did you know they're releasing a newer, LARGER Escalade? Like the first POS wasn't large enough. Anyway, here's something that might illustrate your "asshole SUV driver" experience.

Oh God! The new "larger" Escalade is going to be the same exact thing as a Suburban, with the Caddy front end. Your website is anti-SUV propaganda, which is totally opinion based. I drive a full size truck and am not a dick head and am quite nice to the other drivers around me. The only thing that pisses me off is when I let someone over and they don't wave. Now on the original post. I'm sorry your car got hit, that really really sucks! But to everyone bashing the SUV, this minor fender bender could have caused the same amount of damage had another car hit it.

SUV drivers are far different that full size pickup drivers

The Escalade ESV (the bigger) one...it's massive. We have one at my dealer right now, I haven't driven it yet, but I'm sure I'll have to squeeze it into a way too tight spot on the lot soon enough (as I have to do with everything, *sigh*). 80,000 friggin dollars (CAD) for it. Pointless.

Sorry to hear about the car Kat. I had a guy in a truck back into my Escort once, but good ole' Scort didn't take a scratch but did $1000 damage to the truck, and it was all his fault (AND he got an unsafe backing ticket, lol) That thing was a tank of a compact car You seem to have bad luck with that car, maybe you need to treat it to a new aftermarket part to boost it's luck

Oh Kat, I'm so sorry That truly sucks. So much bad luck with people's rides being hit by bad drivers (Moppie, my friend Dustin who rarely posts here, and now you). I'm just glad that a cop was there to help you out. Hope it turns out all right and that you get your car back to 100% quickly :sun:
