How long for a race?

When you are doing street race racing what is normally the length you race for. A) for about 45 seconds. B) Till the next street light. C) First person to pass the intersection. D) case by case race. Was just wondering what your opions were.

i would say until you know you've lost or you know you've won. like there is no way to catch up becasue he keeps pullin or you keep pullin on him. or until you get within 1/8th mile of traffic

Within about 10-15 seconds is should be obvious who the winner was, and if not, it's a tie. There is no reason to race for 45 seconds on the street...

45 seconds!?!?? haha, you'd be going 300mph(if that was possible). That's a Fast & Furious race. Race until it's clear who the winner is like someone else mentioned.

Usually its stop light to stop light. Otherwise its pretty obvious after 15 seconds or so whats happened or what going to happen. Someone is in front, either he's gaining more ground or the other guy is realing him in and will be the winner given more road. I am not the person in front is the winner if he cuts out before he is passed. He should be smart enough to know that he's lost (or about to lose) and take it at that.

The best is to know ahead of time what the race is for. Quick quarter or fastest miler.

Obviously my cars are tough to take off the line (even stock the, the AWD just launches these beasts). After the 1/8 the big LS1 cars will either tag along falling back or start reeling me in, but beyond that, its usually pretty clear whats going to happen next.
