1/25 Pro-touring wheels, my way

Not really happy with anything in the aftermarket. They're either too blingy, too tall, and usually lack the right widths and offsets needed for a car that requires "stagger" i.e. rear tires wider than the front. So what else is there to do but make my own?

Had to dust off (sort of) the in-progress Chevelle. Ignore the temporary centers and tires. Centers were chopped with an xacto and the tires have no insides, quick-cast with "thermoplastic adhesive".

18" negative offset:

Same rim but the center moved for closer to zero offset:

19" rear no center:

Still messing with different centers that will eventually be cast. I'll have lots to choose from. 9" and 12" wide wheels will be made, with rubber tires to match.

More soon!

I've been around, mostly lurking. Not much time to build since my workbench has been in shambles from moving everything to the garage, plus most of the work space is taken by work. Recently made room for play, so here we are.

So, more pics:

Offsets are weird since there are no hubs or brakes to hold the centers on so I just took the pictures where they happened to fall. These are 19s and I think the 18s would be a better choice for the Corvair.
