Wiper Fluid Reservoir

Hello,

I recently was entering a pretty steep driveway and bottomed out. After that I started noticing that my wiper fluid was constantly low. Today I checked under the car, on the right side, where the wiper fluid reservoir is located and sure enough there is a slight leak. It looks like I scraped up the bottom of the reservoir and therefore am losing the fluid, and my indicator light is constantly on. Is there any easy fix for this? Do you think I need to replace the entire reservoir and if so, do I need to take off the entire bumper then, since it seems to sit right under it? Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks as always.

Best to replace the reservoir. You do not need to remove the front bumper skin just the plastic splash guards from underneath to access the reservoir and pump.

Thanks. Any good sites you can recommend to find the reservoir? I've been looking online and am having a difficult time finding one, except for the dealer ofcourse. GM wants over $50 bux for this plastic reservoir, which I think is a bit much.

Re: Wiper Fluid Reservoir

I show that reservoir as $90 dealer retail, and about $70 wholesale, so unless you contacted a dealer with an old part laying around that they're trying to broom, $50 is under his cost.

Re: Wiper Fluid Reservoir

Thanks for the insight. I posted a link below where I found it for $53 bux, do you think this is legit? Thanks again.

Yeah, GM parts direct sells at dealer cost but they normally bone you on the shipping, that's where they make their money..

I wouldn't have any problem getting a used one if it was cheaper as well. Its pretty easy to fill it up with water to check for leaks before you leave.
