G-Tech is SOMEWHAT on target.
It's usually a few tenths of a sec. off and a few MPH as well. Track is always a better and safer place to find out what your car will do. 11.4's on motor for me :sun: Probably gonna throw some spray on the car next winter and keep my fingers crossed for mid 10's.

I have done 13.8 @ 104.7 mph in my Skyline GTS-t with way too much wheelspin, and 12.4 @ 110.65 mph in the GTR which is nearly stock standard.

I dont believe in the G-tec rating. Theirs a lot more to getting 1/4 times since the driver can be a complete shmuck and not come close to a cars potential.

also when the gtech supposedly calculates hp, it doesnt take into account fwd, rwd, awd, or gear ratios, tire and wheel sizes, or pretty much anything but time and weight. a car with 400 hp and a car with 200 hp can run the same time, depending on these variables. one said my car has 240 hp, i know for a fact my car has a lot less than that, as it came with 160 stock and only has an intake and exhaust, its prob really got about 170hp.

Rob:
Have you been to the track before to see how accurate the G-Tech is compared to your actual runs? I would be curious to find out if it is close! Those times sound a little too quick for your car, unless you have some serious upgrades! What do you have done to your Porsche?

G-tec acuracy
I took my G-tec to the track and found the actual times were sometimes as much as 1/2second off. If I launched way harder (bad wheelspin) the mph on G-tec would go up when the real track mph went down! The difference was about 5-10mph!
Another thing I measured consistant and repeatable differences in the distance traveled from standing start to end of 1/4 mile on 2 different type of cars. I still use the G-tec for making a/b parts comparisons and estimations. They are well worth the money! |
