1969 Chevy Nova.... Pro Tourer

I started this Revell kit many months ago, then put it aside once the body was painted to concentrate on other projects.

Paint is Tamiya Bright orange, topped with pearl clear and TS13.

Stripes were masked and painted Tamiya white and pearl.







Bare Metal foil added to trim, final coats of TS13 added then polished out with micro mesh and Tamiya compounds.





Interior is a combination of Tamiya bright orange and Plasti-cote Suede effect.

Speakers and Amps are from a Revell Charger kit.
I'm going to add a 6 point harness to each seat too.

Although I realize that you are not finished, I have to say that the interior is a bit neutral. Not in the accessories, but in color. It needs some highlights, such as black seat backs, chrome trim on the door panels, black floor mats, possibly throw some semi gloss on the dash, and some bits of the door panels to change it up a little. maybe tone down the chrome a touch on the amps and speakers with a wash of black to pick out some highlights. When I saw this I could only think of the episode of futurama when Captain Zap Brannigan attacked the neutral planet, and their leader said "If I die, tell my wife I said 'Hello.'"

as far as the rest of the model, you are doing a BEAUTIFUL job.

I have to agree. You're doing so really top drawer work. I love the color, but I'm biased, having owned an orange '72Nova, and the fact that our local college team's colors are orange & white. (GO VOLS!)

The interior, while well detailed, is a bit blase. Maybe do some orange & white on the seats. Example...On the inserts paint them semigloss orange, with white "bowties" on the uppers. That should be a fairly simple "mask & spray" job.

Mate, that thing is BOSS......I love it.
To me...I really don't mind the interior "as is"...........Just my HO though...maybe a light wash on the speakers....??
Can't wait to see this one face to face.....It will be ready for EXPO...??
Please bring it anyway.....I wanna see'it......

I already stated how awesome I think it it on another board but I'll state it again: It's awesome!!! After seeing yours, I went and bought the resin Jimmy Flintstone '72 body and a resin hood so I can do one in a somewhat similar fashion!

Thanks Willimo, It simply says "LARGE".... not sure what if really means or refers to.
Thats how the part came out of the box in the Revell uptown Dodge Charger. I simply masked the amps off and painted it to match the surrounding trim........

Small update time.

After some of the previous comments and suggestions I decided to change a couple of minor things in the interior.

I added some custom mixed flocking to the floor, rear seat area and parcel shelf.

Added some dullcote and Semi gloss black to the speakers and amps.

I still have some paint touch ups to do and the harnesses to add.











I also made a start on the 383 small block too.
Mostly as it came out of the box... just in the process of adding some wiring and other minor details.

YES!!!! Yes, yes, yes, yes! That is freaking amazing! Now touch up the steering column and throw some photo etched keys in the ignition. My god, that is perfect.

Ok, I am going to get one of these kits now. PERIOD!!!! I may even decide to borrow this paint scheme to finish up my '69 Poncho Ventura.

This is true art. I wish, for your sake, that the doors would have been opened to show off that gem of an interior.

It's finally completed. Sorry for the dark indoor pics but its hard to get a good pic at midnight without a photo studio lol. I'll get some nice outdoor pics over the weekend.

I love that orange paint, the stance, and the interior. Where did you get the sleeves for the wheels?
