Air in the face
Hi all,
I have a '98 GTP coupe. I was reading about the blower motor issues and the water leaking in and showing up on the floor. I had this problem. It happened a couple of times last year and then this year, when it was cold. Fogged up the inside something fierce. Anyway, thanks to this forum, I've replaced the rubber gasket that was hanging down and she's dry again. I did notice though, that prior to the repair, and while the floor was wet, when I turned the radio on I heard the load popping coming out of the back speakers. It was scary! I kinda waited until it got dry again before testing the radio and now it seems okay. But! I've got this one lingering aftermath. I usually have my automatic climate control set manually to have the air come out at my feet. About every third time I get in, it's coming out the vent and into my face. When it gets this way, there is noting I can do about it. I can get it to come out at the floor, or at the defrosters up above, or even out of the vent. But there is always some coming out of the vent. Did someting get messed up when it got wet, or what? Thanks. |

Re: Air in the face
Is there air flowing out the vents while the car is stopped or moving only? There is flow through ventilation but you should feel that only while car is is motion. What happens when you turn the ACC climate control to off?

Re: Air in the face
The air that seems to constantly come out of the vents when it gets into this wierd condition is being forced by the fans. When I'm at a light, it's still coming out. When I turn the system off and I'm at a light, it does not come out anymore. Yesterday it was acting up. There was air coming out of the vents. I tried pulling and replacing the fuse to the HVAC system and it made no difference. This morning I get in it and it is behaving correctly.
