Who should I be looking for?

Hi everyone, my question is, If I want to assemble a team of experts to design and build a new vehicle from the concept up, what type of technical professionals should I be looking for?

Re: Who should I be looking for?

You'll need a heap of designers. From interior and exterior, to ergonomics and sound engineers. Then you'll need several engineers who not only know the millions of aspects of how vehicles operate and handle dynamically, but also know how to program a computer to blueprint it. Then you'll need fabricators, assemblers, and a few thousand other resources for R&D.

Then all you'll need is about $30 billion to assemble patents, lawyers, EPA certification, disposable cars for crash testing, and a place to build it.

Then you'll need about another $100 billion for the machinery, computers, office space, continuing government involvement, and the peripherals like insurance and taxes.

Put it this way.... GM coudn't stay alive with $17 billion, and they already have the cars designed. All they needed to do was assemble them and pay the employees.

But if you're talking about a few kit cars, you can probably pare that down to just 1 or 2 billion. If you're talking about just one car for yourself, more like $1 million. If you build on an existing vehicle, its cheaper. You can build your own frame to go under an existing body for not much money, but if you're building a body from scratch, you're in for HUGE money.... and I mean huge.
