Re: car transporter
Revell made one (released under Revell-Germany and Revell US, I think). It's readily available on eBay if you do a search for "Revell Transporter," then click on model kits.

Re: car transporter
There has been a 1/25 transporter from Revell some years ago. It shouldn't be that hard to find.

Re: car transporter
Issues...
Warped parts as always can be a problem. This thing is big and a bit fragile. if you want to display it full of cars you will have to build the cars in the middle into it. A lot of cars don't fit in it. And (drum roll) a full load of cars is likely going to be too much of a load and it will fall apart. I got all that from a builder, and i still wanted one till i saw the contents of the kit. It reminded me of one of those model train timber bridge kits that comes with a sheet of plans and what looks like a million match sticks.

Re: car transporter
I built one in my early modeling days. I built it in a day or so, and loaded it up with cars and had no problems.

I think you should get it if it is something that you really want to eventually build, of course if you can afford it as well.
I bought one last year it was second hand and I have inspected the sprues and donīt seem to have any problem, maybe when I get to build it I found out. Iīm sure I donīt have the skills today to get it built in a way that looks convincing. But could that be worse than my attempt at the Honda NSX Mobil1? That kit is doomed ![]() Oh and subscribe to the AF Classified Thread - when the e-mail notification is working itīs sweet - I got mine in there as well as a bunch of great stuff. Box collecting is great too! Just my

Re: car transporter
My older brother built one and it held cars and got handled lots of times with no problems at all. The only problem is the tires are a little soft so they look like they are flat from the weight of it all. I would recommend building as much as you can before painting it as that will make your joints as strong as possible. Also, don't use Testors cement it is not very good. My choice of glue would be Plastruct Plastic Weld or Ambroid ProWeld.
I have two Revell Transporters myself because I hope to make a Tractor\Trailor transporter where the cars will be over the truck and on the trailer both. It is a nice kit with a lot of potential. TW |

Re: car transporter
Do you mean something like this (I know, crappy picture)?
It's the revell transporter. It's rather good, but you'll have to bear in mind it's 1/25. So wide (super)cars won't fit unless you'll widen it. But if you study the plans a bit, you'll notice this isn't verry difficult. I have done it without extra styreen, just repositioning some parts, but still cars like the XJ220 and the Enzo don't fit in the lower places without nocking the rearviewmirrors off. Don't worry about the strenght, because it is rather strong. Of course it's still plastic and verry long, but it can hold 6 cars easily. |

Re: car transporter
No I don't have close ups, but the next time I visit my parents (almost all my models are stored there) I'll try to remember to take some.
And don't think to get it, just do it;-) |
