Question CAI's

Which CAI will work the best for the Automatic? I have heard about the ICEMAN working, but almost all the intakes I see, say they are for the manual transmission. Does it really matter what transmission the car has?, or is it just for placement issues. :sun:

Neither the ice man or the aem works best on your auto. Heres what you do take a 3.0 intake snorkel off a mini van. Sorry for not being to perciece. Go to neons.org they have everything that you would like to know. good luck

The problem with most neon automatics is that they are only 3 speeds, thats why people don't do that much. I know the IceMan has a conversion you can do thats not hard at all, and I also THINK that K&N has one for an automatic, either of which would work, I don't really know which is better for an auto.

Unfortunately, they're right. The best thing you can do to an auto. is turbocharge it. With an auto., you never lose an ounce of boost, but you need a lot of power to overcome the auto. trans.
It would be nice to have one more gear, though. The new ones do, of course.

Hey SniperX13, I just built my own CAI for my 2001 neon, its a 3 speed auto, and man can you notice a differance! I don't brag or notthin, but my car is getting pretty fast from that, she topped out @ 228kph after the filter and before @ 203kpf, I would just make your own man.
