Straight from the people...

How many of us would like to see Nissan put out a Sport Compact Car in league with it's competitors (ie. the new neon, WRX, EVO, etc)? Cast your vote and tell us why.

nissan has plenty of cars to compete with the other sport compacts(skyline gts, bluebird, gloria) we just don't have access to them. if this is the poll/petition you plan on trying to send to nissan be sure to specify that. and you all probably know what i want and why from my "I'm pissed" thread but to make it short and sweet: it's just not fuckin fair that we can't experience all nissan has to offer here in the states. and i know there are shipments of skylines imported and legalized by a few companies (motorex,rb motoring) in very limited numbers but they have to come through the west coast first. i have NEVER seen a skyline make it to the east coast, they all get claimed.

and for those of you that are just viewing the thread and not replying or voting, hook us up and just click the damn yes button

you mean like a focus or civic SI ? if so, HELL NO. that will be the most ultimate gay shit. the ricers will be coming out and getting Nissans. they can stick to their honda and yodas.

now if you are talking about a small RWD similar to the old school 240Z then teah, I'll be all for that

i'm talkin a vq30deT or Vq35deT. or sr20deT a turbo sentra or altima. even if they made a whole new car just for us. we just want something to compete with the wrx(sti),evoVIII,srt-4 for around the same >$35,000 price tag. with the power and speed potential of a turbo charged vehicle. like you said in the thread about the maxima versus the talon tsi. with aroud 1 grand they can run 12's. name one nissan car that you can do that to aside from the 300zx TT, which is very pricey, even today for a used one.
even f they created an incarnation of an old datsun, it'd be something
we know they're out there, waaaaay the fuck out there, we just want them over here.

Whats wrong with the new 2003 350Z or g35. Isnt that a sport compact car. I think nissan made a real contender with the 350Z. Its getting good reviews all over.

There's never a whole lot of "aftermarket shit" until the car's been out for a while.

And I'm voting no. I would rather have something powerful AND practical like my fiance's 99 Max SE, as opposed to something that's only REALLY useable on the track.

I mean, look what I own: A 1994 Infiniti G20, 3050lbs and 140horses. Obviously I choose cars for reasons other than what kind of balls they have.

Yea it just debut. Of course there wouldnt be alot of parts yet. But in a recent car and driver magazine Nismo has alot of plans for the 350Z. Its just gonna get so much faster. Car and driver tested the g35 to go in 14.2 seconds stock in the quarter mile now thats alot of balls going toe to toe with the wrx and the new turbo inspired lancer evo also clocked at 14.2 seconds whereas the 350Z is all motor

Considering that, it's beyond me why ANYONE would want the EVO. It's ugly, and for a little, teensy bit more you could have the G35, with its luxury, class, reclining rear seats, DVD nav system, etc...and since it's not even at its full potential (the 350 milks 27 more hp out of the same engine) you'd have more power to play with if you modded it.

if you get the g35 sport coupe(6mt) it's the same 287 hp. it's just a little slower cuz it's a 2+2.

and wouldn't your infiniti be great with a turbo? i had an old 200sx SE-r(same engine as your G20) and all i ever wanted to do was get the sr20de-t engine. i just think it'd be nice for nissan to come out with a turbo something from the factory.

the older maxima's still don't have huge aftermarket resources. my car is 8 years old and there aren't any mass produced headers, ecu's, cams. a few companies dabble here and there with these parts.

the acura 3.2 cl type s just came out and they already have nice comptech headers available for massive gains. intakes. h pipe exhaust systems. high performance cams, ecu.
the new rsx alread has forced induction kits available from greddy, jackson

if a new nissan car isn't the answer, than a much bigger, more easily accessible aftermarket market is needed

hey boingo, maybe you can help answer a few questions.
1)Is nismo going to be coming to our aid
2)if so when? and what cars are they planning on putting out stuff for. will they be marketing products for the nissan cars that are already out.(like a 4th gen max)
i've heard a lot of when's and if's but nothing concrete.

thats apples and oranges comparing a factory forced induction two door car compared to a naturally aspirated family sedan.

Either way, factory forced induction, I.E. wrx, srt-4, audi s4, eclipse/talon, evoViii whenever it comes, all can just be boosted, exhaust adds way more hp then n/a and you already got a slight jump.

So you mean that u souped out your maxima to the fullest that you need another car from nissan to tune up. You have one of the fastest maximas being a 95. you could get a upraged ecu from jwt, a meiv (middle eastern intake valve). there are alot of turbo setup from at maxima.org. I think theres alot of aftermarket support for the 4th gen maxima. Headers dont give any hp gains because thats not restricting the 4th gen max its the y pipe and that could be cheaply opened up by a buying a budget.
