98 Dodge Grand Caravan wanting more power

I've got a 98 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.8 V6. I'm trying to find a way to get 25-50 more hp out of it for towing. I'm not having much luck finding anything my self. If anyone knows of company that make a chip or programer for it or any other way to get more hp let me know. Please and thank you!!

Ummm, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you need more horsepower to tow something with your Caravan, you probably shouldn't tow it with a Caravan... your tranny will blow up for sure.

Been there, done that... and paid $2600 for the lesson.

Re: 98 Dodge Grand Caravan wanting more power

All I tow is a 84 Jayco pop up camper. It don't weigh more than gvrw. I live in northeast Iowa where there are alot of hilly roads. It pulls it fine on level roads but when i climp hills I have 2 choices 1:take a run at it and slowly lose speed with out putting the pedal to the floor and leting the engine scream or 2: put the pedal to the floor and let the engine scream (when I do this it holds its speed) but I don't like doing that. Its hard on the engine. The transmission is far far far from stock!!!! I had the transmission rebuilt with parts 10 times better than factory, it should hold up to 450 hp give or take a little. I'm not worried about that.

Ditto

I have a '99 Caravan just last year with about 110,000 miles on it, the transmission went out.
I was told Caravans are notorious for having transmissions with relatively short life spans.

Where do I find a chip? Thanks never thought about a cold air intake. I've checked with all the majors like Jet, and Superchips. All they did was laugh at me and said "dude it's a minivan"..
