1999 Grand Prix tach
New member here.
While driving sometimes the car will jerk and the tach stops working, everything else seems fine after that. Sometimes it will also kick it out of cruise control, sometimes not. Any ideas? |

Re: 1999 Grand Prix tach
has you car ever stalled?
What motor do you have? Sounds like the beginning stages of a flaky crank position sensor.

3800
It does not stall. The trac light also comes on, not always in relation to the jerk and tach stopping. |

Re: 1999 Grand Prix tach
I agree with Tim. It doesn't have to stall be a flaky crank position sensor. One symptom or an early symptom is just the loss of tach and TRAC OFF light coming on. The crank sensor is two Hall effect sensors in one. 18X and 3X.
And welcome to AF.
