Question Tamiya Falken Skyline

Has anyone done this kit and can you tell me what color blue you used if you didn't use the ts-10. I am thinking of modifying it to make it sit lower.

The color had to mix to match.

Off-topic... Does that kit come with 2 sets of rims as shown on the box? How many sets of rubber?

Which other Tamiya kits come with rim options?

Nope, sad to say it only comes with one set of rims & tyres. I am continplating on painting them white keeping the car only blue with out the green but still putting the decals on plus dropping the ride height to make it look like a street racer. Having a hard time picturing the green. Whatcha think green in or it or no green. I think no green.

I can't answer your question but i have one for you In this kit, how are the two tones of blue seperated in that interlocking stripe pattern? Is it by a decal or is masking required?

It is separated. The body is molded in like a french blue and the green is represented by decals. Decals for the entire front grill, the hood, the roof, and the sides. The white lettering decals are separate from the green ones.

I painted mine yesterday using tamiya's TS-10 and I must say that color matches pretty close to the blue. As far as the decals go I am going cut all the white patches from the green and only make it blue and white yet lowering its stance considerably. Post pics of your progress if you don't mind.

Angry Problem with decals

Last night I decide now that I finished the Revell honda civc that I would start build the Skyline since the paints are all dry. I tried to apply the decals but they were very flimsy and would not lay correctly especially on that god forsaken front bumper decal. I tried for about two hours rewetting and moving til I just took them all off and I will only be using the white ones. Has any one else experience this with tamiya decals?
