Ignition switch replacement and harness?

1997 GTP, I need to know where to get the harness? Is it a dealer only part? Also what do I ask for?

Thanks.

The AC-Delco part number is D1491D (GM# 26068757) and it is not a dealer only part. You may be able to use this Delco number as a cross reference for whatever brand your local auto parts store carries. Just ask for an ignition switch (the harness is part of it).

Thanks for the part number, called autozone and o'reillys, both said it was dealer only part, I ordered one online.

Thats funny. The Autozones in my area carry them or you can order one or get it at Autozone on-line so the part is not dealer only. Made by Duralast PN: LS927. Around $99.00 and they work too since some of our forum members used them.

I took the cheap way out and disassembled and cleaned the contacts. Been working ever since.

Hey Rich, parts monkey time.

Ah yes......The infamous parts monkey strikes again!!!!

I don't know how to look it up, so it must be dealer only!!!
