My car's starter has been acting up. Its not that it wont start, but the sound behind it. When it starts, it makes an "EEEEEEEEEE" sound for about 4 seconds, then the sound dies off. Im pretty confident the starter is ok, but whats making that goddamn sound? Could it be that there's no grease left in the starter? Arg.
Also, i recently changed my alternator and my alternator belt as well. Now, its making a weird sound like its too tight. What could be the problem and my solution? Thanx my Maxima Comrades!

If your starter only makes the sound once in a while, then I have the same issue, and have had it since i bought the car. The guy at the shop told me that it's just the starter vibrating inside a bushing, and that it's not harmful to the car, it's just annoying to deal with..
as for the alternator, if you had someone do it, take it back and tell em to fix it, if not.. well then, I'm stumped |
