One thing with the dremels, watch out when drilling. I was drilling holes into a spoiler for my friends R/C body and I had it on a too fast setting, the spoiler got caught and gave me a big cut down my hand. I am always very cautious when using the dremel now.
I have the Dremel Multi-pro, one that plugs into the wall, because I think having the consistant power supply is good for just using at a desk. www.dremel.com There are other brands, but I think that dremel is the better one.

Get one that has varible speed, rather than just "Off, Low, High" get something like "OFF, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10" that way you can control the speed while drilling, grinding, etc. It's worth the extra money!
 Make sure to get safety glasses as well, remember, safty first!Also, if you see a "Craftsman" model, it's exactly the same as a dremel (since craftsman owns dremel) so if it's cheaper, go for it!

I've got a cordless Dremel, it's got 2 speeds and it's just fine for modeling. It can go about 5 hours before you need to charge it for 2 hours.

use a real dremels (brand dremels) I have 1 wireless dremels and one noname with wire, and the wireless is so more powerfull ! not a matter of RPM, my noname, even at 18000RPM, will stop working on plastic.. my wireless at 5400rpm have no problem..

It must not have much torque. If Craftsman dremels are exactly the same as Dremel uh.. dremels then and they are cheaper I will get a Craftsman. Surely if it's Craftsman they would have them at a Sears here in town, and Craftsman has a lifetime waranty on everything, though I guess Dremel would as well if it's the same company. Thanks guys.

I think i have a craftsman
its a bit cheap but it plugs into the socket and works real well id go with it cause its cheap and very effective

I got a nice one, cost a little over 60 bucks. It has the large thing with the motor, then an extension connected to the part that has a motor which makes it easier to handle. The kit I bought also comes with those sanding bits, drill bits, and buffer bits. It gets hot after usage as expected. Overall I'm happy with it.
