HVAC Control Panel
On my daughter's 1999 Regal, the control panel display for the heater/Air conditioning doesn't light up any more. It's the hvac system that has dual/auto temp control. It's kind of hard to set the temp when the panel display doesn't light up!! Is there an easy fix(resolder the connections on the pc board)for this, or is it time to buy another panel??
How hard is it to get this thing out of the dash???? Thanks!!! |

Re: HVAC Control Panel
There is a fix where you remove the climate control head unit and touch up possible cold solder joints on the circuit board. We used to have a link to a tech procedure but that is no longer working or available. Your other option is to get a replacement head unit preferably used (pull) from a salvage yard or parts supplier like Ed Morad. He has an EBay store with lots of used Regal parts.
To remove the head unit you will have to remove the dash plastic bezel and then the piece at the center console. Once removed you will see the retainers that hold the head unit into the dash.
