Nismo Z & S15 Build

Hi everyone, happy new year, hope your well.
I needed a quick box stock(ish) build to get me through a burnout period from other more involved builds, and Santa brought me 3 new models, Nismo Z, D1GP S15 & a 66 Hertz Shelby, Thanks Santa!!!
So I decided to tackle the Nismo Z & S15 at the same time,
Firstly the Z, will be modified a little, I didnt like the fascia so I removed the "teeth" I love the wheels so there gonna go on an R33 GTR at some point, but I decided to use 19" Volk TE37s and also adding Ings Rear wing.

S15, was a little disapointed to find that the interior is stock, so its gonna be a street car, pretty much box stock, just omitted the spoiler, also gotta keep the chrome Gold plated wheels, (how offen do you get those in a kit anyway?)

So pics (Forgive me im still new here)

More Pics as they happen, Hope to have these done in a month (or 2, hey im slow at building)

Re: Nismo Z & S15 Build

Hi Everyone, small update:
The Boss is still on Holiday & while I have to be at work I might as well get some painting done, so.

Base Coat - Tamiya PS Gold

Interior Panels, It is very helpful having a reference car in the driveway, so easy to work out what colour each part is, if only I could have an Enzo & Carrara GT in the Driveway that would really make life easier!!

Re: Nismo Z & S15 Build

And now some colour

First Colour Coat - Tamiya TS52 Cand Lime Green - Looks really cool, in the light all you could see was Gold, it was really hard to paint coz all i keep seeing was Gold

Final Colour coat - Tamiya PS Translucent Green - Looks Emerald in the light

Tamiya TS 76 Silver

Thats All for now folks, now I just have to wait for the paint to dry on the bodies before clearcoating, ill hopefully get some time to start detail painting all the other parts, but im a little busy at the moment, just got my 2 display cabinets delivered so im going through cleaning up old models & fixing the broken parts etc, until next time

Re: Nismo Z & S15 Build

Good job on both, nice and clean paintjob for me! I like the S15 color after painting it candy lime over gold, it looks so unique. OK, I know you had to keep the progress going, but that color is hot!

Re: Nismo Z & S15 Build

Thanks guys, Yes I was building at work, only painting as we have a room where we do alot of spraypainting (Oh Im a Signwriter by the way) so i just use that room, i tend to do painting at least once a week in my lunch break, but recently the boss was still away on Holiday and I was the only one in the office, so I got a little more done than i usually would have. Now hes back and ill be back to my lunch break painting.

Janositamas - Yes I Loved the colour too, so im gonna go out and buy another model to do the same paint job on, i may use a different gold, maybe Tamiyas Champagne Gold

Supermele - I know what you mean about the wheels not steering, I was disapointed to see the actual chassis, i had seen pics on the net but to see in person is quite something, you dont realise that everything is molded to the chassis, congrats to Tamiya for molding something so complex, but to detail its a nightmare, only look good from looking straight at it.

Ill hopefully have some pics tomorrow, only been brushpainting & detailing so not much to show

Re: Nismo Z & S15 Build

Ok, ive finally got a Photo update:

I'm considering putting some of the decals on, mainly the Green & metallic Gold Kei Office down the sides & bonnet. What do you guys think?

Oh and heres what has been delaying my progress, my new display cabinets

Ive just started on the interiors so should have some more pics next week, ive decided to replicate the interior on my S15 Silvia so I need to visit the hobby shop for more paint. All C&Cs welcome

Both the builds and the cabinet are looking fantastic!
Nice touch putting some kit boxes in the cabinet too, might have to steal that...
