Post Taurus/Sable

turn signal, and emergency flashers will not work on 98 Sable. I bought it at auction, nice car otherwise. I replaced MFS and the flasher. No light comes on for the signals on the dash either. Seems like a dead circuit. I would like to test for power coming into the switch but have no diagram. Could also use any ideas on the matter.

Re: Taurus/Sable

I had a similar problem once on my 98 taurus. It turned out to be the emergency flasher switch on top of the steering column behind the wheel. It was sticking inside.

Yep, I experienced this same thing on my '98 Taurus SHO. By accident, I cycled the hazard switch a few times and everything started working. Sprayed some DeOxit into the switch, cycled a few more times, and never had another issue with it for the 2 more years I had the car. As far as I know, it's still working.
