I'm using Mr Rubbing Compound 1000 and I tried it on a clear window (spare) and an old celica i never finished... it seems to make the coating dull and puts more scratches on it?!?
I'm going to pick up tamiya compound and wax. (and use Pman's technique) btw aussie dudes.. where do you pick up your rarer modelling stuff in Sydney (micro sol stuff I had to mail order... internet order.. doesn't seem to have registered yet though, so im still waiting) in other news... im priming my enzo today! yay!!! I'm going to prime them all on the sprue.

Only Australian place I've ever seen selling Micro Sol is Hearns Hobbies in Melbourne. The price they charged makes it cheaper to order over the internet, especially since our dollar has strenthened a little lately
Don't know about Sydney - maybe Sherrif's?Never tried Mr Rubbing Compound compound but the Tamiy compound is excellent for polishing up windows and the like. Just make sure you usea very soft, finely woven cloth. If you prime the parts on the sprues, what will you do to the marks where you cut them off? And what about the mould lines? Finaly welcome to AF! Nice to have more Aussies here! |
