Xmas build - New Beetle Drift conversion ;)

Hi guys!

I used the Christmas weekend to build my last build this year for a "Porsche Group build". I am pushing the limits a bit I guess because I have built a descendant of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche's VW Bug -

My project is a New Beetle "Drift" conversion

Firstly the body was based with TS8 Italian Red and then finished with Mica Red

The interior was a no-thrills two-tone grey and body color job (The little vase on the dash is included in the kit )

The chassis was painted TS Semi Gloss black and various shades of Vallejo black and some metallics in places.

The various sub-assemblies were then put together et voila!

I then made the "drift" conversion .....

Happy New Year my friends!

Re: Xmas build - New Beetle Drift conversion ;)

Thanks guys
Just a 2 day build but I'm glad someone got the joke

@ MidMazar - Dzięki
The snow is just a paste mixed up of micro-balloons, PVA glue and water with one drop of light blue acrylic paint for a "cooler" color. Same as the stuff I used HERE

Micha, I actually took photos "with" and "without" the antenna but finally decided on photos and display "without".

My idea was to have a scene where there is essentially 100% snow (I know you can see the wheels ) but still let the car be recognizable due to its distinctive shape. That is why I selected a Tamiya beetle for the job - cheap, easy kit and still looks like a Beetle

P.S. in the meantime I have added some snow to the tires as I noticed that they are too clean in these photos.

LOL
Luckily not much of that sort of 'drifting' so far this season.

Drifting huh? Geez. It actually took me a few seconds to catch on, thought you were making a mold or something. Very snazzy little model thou.

Converted into a drift! The Beetle is perfect, it's got that 'drift' shape!

Great work, and as ever another fun idea from you! (But those chromed wheels really do jump out, don't they?)
