The Iraq War justified

Finally, vindication for George!!! The Iraq War is not a farce!!! Who would have guessed that the Iraqis were hiding those weapons of mass destruction on the feet of their reporters?

You've all seen the video by now but here's a link anyway.

Ha ha the ol' bastard has pretty good reflexes.

The newest comment on the video.... :

"I was trying to think of something insulting to say about the behavior of this man but then I realized that his actions speak volumes. May God have mercy on these ignorant backward people who have been deceived by a satanic religion! What do you think would have happened if an American had thrown a shoe at the president of Iraq (or Iran!) when he was visiting the US. The Muslims would have rioted and killed hundreds all around the world!! They need to come into the 21st century!"

Surprising. The ole codger has darn good reflexes. If they liked baseball maybe it would have been a direct hit. ......

When our troops pull out of Iraq in 2011 they can resume killing each other in mass as far as I'm concerned. Effing barbarians.

Re: The Iraq War justified

I loved the expression on Bush's face after the first shoe was thrown, and before the second one was airborne. It seemed like a combination of amazement and surprise, almost to the point of appearing to laugh at the moment.

Re: The Iraq War justified

This is interesting........ the media is making a big issue about the insulting symbolism that shoe-throwing has in the Arab world, and Bush opponents there are hailing the reporter as a hero.

I am thankful that George had the quick reactions and presence of mind to duck, but not cower or hide behind the podium.
Frankly, if he had been hit or had run off etc, the negative Arab propaganda would have been more effective.

To his credit, Bush took a pretty lighthearted attitude to this..... more so than the Iraq administration.....as it turns out the reporter got thumped pretty hard for his efforts.

Iraq to probe 'custody abuse' of Bush shoe assailant

BAGHDAD (AFP) - Iraq's justice system is to probe the case of the journalist who hurled his shoes at US President George W. Bush, officials said on Tuesday, as his brother said he had been beaten up by security agents.

"Muntazer al-Zaidi has been transferred to the judicial authorities who have opened an investigation. But it is too soon to say who was behind this act," General Qassem Atta, spokesman for a Baghdad security plan, told AFP.

The journalist's brother, meanwhile, said he has a broken arm and ribs after being struck by Iraqi security agents.

Durgham Zaidi was unable to say whether Muntazer had sustained the injuries while being overpowered during Sunday's protest against Bush's visit to Baghdad or while in custody later.

Re: The Iraq War justified

Jay Leno coined a good one. "Shoeicide Bomber".

I think throwing a shoe at anyone regardless of what country you are in would be an insult not just in the Arab World. Being blown out of proportion. The reporter is lucky that Sharia Law is not being applied to his situation.

I read an article where our troops set a good example after the incident. Some Iraqis attacked the patrol with shoes and they just ignored them and laughed it off. Now we have to train for Shoeicide Bombers.

Given the subject matter of the reporter's protests, it is ironic that if he had thrown shoes at Saddam before the war, his lifespan would have been measured in a scant few minutes, instead of just receiving the jail time the current administration is giving him.

My morning newspaper said a Saudi man has offered $10 million for the shoes.

Re: The Iraq War justified

They had their 15 minutes of fame. I'm glad the mainstream TV media stopped discussing the matter.

I laughed about the part on the showing your shoe soles part of Islamic culture or ways. When I was stationed in Saudi Arabia for over 3 years I used to prop my legs and shoes up on my desk while chatting with them. No one ever complained about it. IMO really no big deal unless they want to for gratuitous reasons or ulterior motives.

Another masterpiece from Jeff Dunham. I busted a nut on this one.
