Ferrari F2007/F2008 metallic colour
Hi guys, i just want to gather some views about using gold as the base followed by clear red over it to simulate the red of the F2007/8 late season cars. Looking at several reference pics of the real car, i somehow feel it is actually not very close to the real color, because it results in a very deep metallic red rather than candy metallic red. Also, has anyone used the zero paint metallic red for this F1 car? If so, i will greatly appreciate it if anyone is willing to share some pics using that paint. Thanks
Ro

Re: Ferrari F2007/F2008 metallic colour
Have you tried Tamiya's Mica Red?
The Mica paints have a finer metallic flake in them and you could try different base colours to affect the final colour. Mica Red over Gold

Re: Ferrari F2007/F2008 metallic colour
Tamiya's Clear Red over Gold is the best looking for the color. I've yet to use it for my F2007/8 kits but I've seen it from pics and the color is almost spot on

Re: Ferrari F2007/F2008 metallic colour
I've just been looking at some photos of the real colour and yeah.... that is going to be a tough one to match.
It has a really fine metallic flake, it is a very bright red (over a white base maybe) but has an orange/gold effect under bright (sun) light. Is there such a colour as Pearl Red? Maybe try their Pearl Clear over one of the reds?
