2008 F150 Heater Problem
The heater in my '08 F-150 King Ranch just went out. All the controls seem to work including the blower fan speeds, the upper/lower vent controls, but it just blows cold air even when the engine gauge shows the engine is up to temp. Turning the heater temp contol all the way up to 90 degrees doesn't change anything. Back in late fall when I was just about to stop using the a/c it seemed that the a/c wasn't cooling properly either but then the wx turned cold and so I didn't have it looked into. The dealer I bought the truck from is 1 1/2 hrs away so I hate to take it back that far for something simple. Any thoughts?

Re: 2008 F150 Heater Problem
Without seeing the vehicle, I would suggest returning to the dealer. Is there another dealer any closer? Any Ford dealer can do the repair.

Re: 2008 F150 Heater Problem
Sounds like the air door actuator, it should be still under warranty. I`m not familiar with this particular truck, but some of em are a real booger to get to buried behind the radio..ect. It is probably worth the 1 1/2 hr trip.

Take it to any Ford Dealership to get it repaired.

Re: 2008 F150 Heater Problem
Since you said the AC wasn't working right at the end of the summer, I concur with unclebubbles, that it is probably an air door actuator.
I'm not sure, but since it's '08 King Ranch, I'm guessing it has some sort of climate control, which means that actuator will be electric solenoid/computer controlled, making it even more of headache to diagnose, not mention the difficulty in getting to it. |
