He's saying that because your final coat will be clear (presumably glossy) it will give theblack lip a glossy finish too. So why bother using flat black in the first place? Tamiya Clears are fantastic but just apply with patience. Do light mist coats first. Then build them up. Body looks fantastic...

Re: Toyota Supra GT "street version" (Tamiya)

The black was masked so it s still flat black. But the clear flowed on the right door...SHIT !

All the body look pretty nice except the right door

It s not super glossy, can i put a second layer of clear ? (it s more gloss in real than picture)

A second layer of clear would be good (and maybe one or two more), as it'll prevent burn-through if you polish the paint.

Re: Toyota Supra GT "street version" (Tamiya)

Definitely put some more clear coats on and then polish it up when it's really hard and dry (after a few days at least). Don't panic with minor runs - as long as the clear hasn't redissolved/swirled the silver you should be ok there. You might even find the drips almost disappear as the clear dries because the lacquer loses so much of its volume. If not, just let it dry nice and hard and rub it down level - but *don't* burn through the clear to the base coat! Anyway, it looks awesome, and it'll look even better if you can pull off a good clean polished clear coat. Good luck. Oh, and yeh, you should have painted the flat black after you did the clear - just like the window trim.
