Q? about BMW M3 rally car

I have seen a few of Fujimi's M3 race cars popping up on eBay recently. Can these kits be made up into one of the M3 rally cars from the late 80's, instead of forking out for Renaissance's m/m kit?

Re: Q? about BMW M3 rally car

Only if you buy the (excellent) Studio27 Transkit...

The Fujimi kit is completely the wrong shape (Front Spoiler / Splitter, Grille , Bootlid , C Pillar shape etc etc etc), and is basically a poorly detailed road car with a roll cage.....

The Fujimi kit on it's own is not a good starting point for anything.....

Question Re: Q? about BMW M3 rally car

Couldn't agree more Fangio, fujimi haven't got the basic shape right, My road car of eleven years is the car in question and i got all giddy at the thought of being able to build a 1/24 replica but when i got my hands on the kit......... it's still in it's box on the shelf and it'll stay there for a long time yet.

Re: Q? about BMW M3 rally car

Tamiya did do quite a good RC Schnitzer works race car, does that mean they have the rights to make more (diferent scale) e30 m3's?

Re: Q? about BMW M3 rally car

Tamiya rc's and plastic kits seldom cover the same ground, with the possible exception of Ferrari's. Even there they have yet to offer a 430 in plastic.
I know that RC keeps the doors open at my LHS, i'm sure the same is true at Tamiya.
I've not given up hope for a new Lotus, BMW, Audi, Jag, etc. from Tamiya, I'm just not holding my breath.
