Re: WIP R32 pics - finally!
You'll get alot more replies if you post your pics in your thread, and then tell us about them. Having to click to somebody's off-forum album is a big turnoff for most people here.

Re: WIP R32 pics - finally!
I would definitely recommend uploading your images to a site that allows image hosting for forums. Photobucket is an excellent option.

WIP r32 pics
Here's my chassis. Do I need just one coat of primer and semigloss black or do I need more coats and sanding?

Re: WIP r32 pics
On the chassis, it's usually best just to take care of flashing, mold marks, and dinks in the surface first, then primer, then paint. Since it's the bottom of the car, unless it's a SHOW CAR, anything more than just primer and paint is a waste of time in my book.
Let me make a suggestion before you get flamed. Don't start another thread on the same model, just put everything on this build in this thread. You can book mark this thread, or subscribe to it in your USER CP.

Re: WIP r32 pics
I'm thinking of taking a break from my Skyline and not buying any new parts/paints until August 28th. I've made/painted a few custom parts and some of it's not looking too good. I just ruined my new seats because I tried to paint them Testors flat red with a brush. Honestly I'm getting tired of spending money every week on my hobby. Here are some more pics with only the stuff I have.

Re: WIP r32 pics
You'll be much happier with the outcome of your paints if you used spray cans, or airbrush. Using a brush should be reserved for small details, and areas that don't get high visibility.

Re: WIP R32 pics - finally!
Sorry but your plumbage of the turbo-piping seems a little bit wrong as you put the air filter on the turbines and not the compressor housings.
e.g. the bigger diameter part=cold air, smaller diameter part=exhaust gases->plumb it on the exhaust.

Quote:
For flat red, I always try to keep the paint wet and thinned down a bit so that it doesn't dry and leave brush marks before I've finished painting the whole seat. If you don't already have one, try and invest in an airbrush to help make your paint last longer and for overall better control.

Re: WIP R32 pics - finally!
Can you tell me where the compressor housings are and the turbines? I can't figure out where they are from this setup. I just looked at the way the stock turbos and intake were put together, cut it up, and used that as a guide for building this one. By the way the flat red intake part is not attached to the end of the turbos (far right). I think the pic makes it look like it does

Re: WIP R32 pics - finally!
In this picture you can see a 2 turbo setup. The wrapped bits are the wastegate pipes and downpipes leading to the exhaust.
The bling bits are the compressor housings, the dark grey metal looking parts are the turbines. ![]() Well that's in no way the standard GTR turbo setup, maybe this picture can make it more clear. This is the standard setup:
